a Love Letter from Me to You (2018)

There are nights like this that sometimes I feel they’ll never push up into days.

I waited for the day(s) for my phone to ring,

Hoping that it was you who rang me.

Until my heart can’t rationalize like my brain.

I stood there in silence as I watched you slowly slip away from the corner of my eyes.

So I kept guessing with this heart full of wonders and believed that love is not a guarantee but will always be worth it.

I tried to fix the broken heart, bled on pages pouring poetry.

But these waves were relentless; I grew tired of swimming, so I paddled to the shore because I didn’t want to half live this life.

Because of you, I don’t want half-hearted hope, but I need wholehearted love, although my mind will never comprehend it.
