Hmmmm, well, since we have no actual studies to verify what percentage of the male population disrespect women, versus what percentage of women do the same to men, it’s a little difficult to dispute your point.
I certainly do want to acknowledge there are women who abuse their power over men.
But in the context of working in tech, your point is not relevant. I hope you see why? Women mistreating male coworkers disrespectfully in the field of tech could only become a serious problem if women were equally represented in the field. And being disrespected becomes a serious problem to your career when it is your bosses or superiors that have control over your advancement. The fact that women are not proportionately employed in the tech field, precludes the possibility of normally distributed “miss piggies” from negatively impacting men’s careers in tech. Especially in light of the fact such a small percentage of women are promoted to management within the field.
I hope that your rebuttal to my point is not an attempt to refute the problem being discussed in the original article? Women are being mistreated and disrespected in the field of Technology. It is a real problem.
