My Two Favourite Documentaries with #BernieSanders

I just thought I would share with folks two of my favourite documentaries staring Bernie Sanders. The reason why I like these documentaries is because Bernie has not changed fundamentally over the 30+ years he has been in office speaking for the Working Class. (links are informational not advertisements)

In my opinion, as a Cultural Activist, the basic thing that has changed is that the American, and indeed the World, Citizenry has awoken to the knowledge that we can sleep no longer. That We are capable of changing the systemic structures in our society. We need and are participating in our political system because We understand that when a small group of people make most of the decisions in our lives Our lives suffer.

Instant, mass, and online communication is preventing those in power from hiding their violence. The near zero marginal cost for this communication is allowing the common human being to research, document, and organize effectively amplifying Our empathy towards each other. This is bringing Our hearts together and helping us redefine 0ur Social Relationships with each other and with nature.

So here we go, the Bernie Sanders’ 1979 Eugene Debs Documentary, I love the fact that Bernie Sanders is the one that speaks the parts of Eugene Debs. Many Americans are not aware how much of our history has been revised, ignored, or buried in plain sight. The video below shows how Bernie thought in 1979 and should provide proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that Bernie is not supported by us, but that Bernie supports the Working Class, he amplifies our voice. His many c-span videos of his work on the Senate and Congressional floor also support my claim.

For more than 150 years the Social struggles against racism, sexism, violence, centralized authority, and corporatism have always been struggles within the Socialist, Marxist, Communist, and Anarchist communities who have always questioned why workers are not the ones that make the decisions about what they produce, how they produce it, and what is done with the profits created from their collective and individual labor. (The previous link is a Session 1 of a 4 session lecture) These questions depending on how they are answered by social institutions and our workplace determine the very fabric of our political, economic, and social agreements. Any one who works less than 8 hours a day should be thankful to Socialists worldwide.

The next video,Devastating Expose on American Journalism and Media Concentration, I will admit is slightly biased against the Corporate GOP Republican Elites and just barely touches on the harm that the Corporate Democratic Party Elites have done to our society, but it does not ignore them. I like this video because it does not need to rely on fringe conspiracy theories that often have some truth, but often lacks integrity in it’s journalistic efforts.

I also was happy to see Congressman Bernie Sanders speaking and being interviewed. His message has not changed, what has changed is obviously the power of online news media to be shared from pocket to pocket/ desk to desk, the effectiveness of independent local news to report on relevant topics to their community, and the creativity allowed through breaking the chains of so called intellectual property rights that allows us to build upon each other’s ideas instead of relying on a private corporation to tell us what Our ideas are. This video also makes it clear what we are struggling against. However, for those that want encouragement as to how the systemic structures of media has moved enjoy this link to another enlightening documentary that shows how We have changed the world through using social media for the good of humankind.

We are organizing in our communities,
We are changing the very ideas of what media is,
We are creating the world anew,
We are giving voice to the unheard,
We are protecting those bound by chains of fear, greed, and control,
We are remembering our common struggles, our common dreams,
We are sharing our new stories,
We are creative, peaceful, cooperative,
Expect Bernie Sanders to help our visions for a new future,
Expect love, wisdom, and change.
