The blaze light for cyclists in blindspots

You hit the nail on the head with this problem.. As a cyclist all my near misses (touch wood, they were just that) have been from cars/buses turning left on me.

Blaze is a startup based in London who are addressing this problem by (1) publicising it (with research such as “79% of cycling incidents happen when drivers manoeuvre into the rider’s path.”) and a light called the laserlight which projects a bike on the road ahead to help the car ahead see you:

Pretty awesome idea… Now for pedestriants it’s trickier — short of putting a laserlight on everyone’s head (☺) the “Look Left/Right” signs on the floor like we have in London might help…
