This is a very great piece. From my experience, urgency — or the results of urgency — is relatively easy to measure and that’s what makes it so attractive. Fostering a sense of purpose requires leadership to go the extra mile and think beyond the usually rigid and short-sighted outcomes that a lot of managers and executives are accustomed to.
