So the first iteration wasn’t great, it allowed you to set a global bit of meta data, most of the modules auto inserted the SEO.

Well have no fear, as part of our rebuild we needed to revisit SEO, not just how to go about it, but actually researching into Open Graph to get a deeper understanding.

In 2.0 each page will allow for it’s own SEO tags such as title, description, page slug, and various Open Graph options. This is a long term goal for this to be more flexible, extensions will auto fill in where it can, such as forum posts, blog article etc.

Along with those changes you will now also be able to have a favicon, it has long been requested and it is indeed time for it to come.

The majority of images around your site will now be configurable, for instance you’ll be able to add alt tags to your logo.

For those interested in taking a dive into the world of SEO we have a small collection of links you may find of interest. First off is the Open Graph Protocol, this is primarily used on Facebook for the link to become a Rich Object. Twitter Cards is also a great reference with some solid in depth examples and explanations. Google also has some great tips on Sitemaps.

Well that’s a quick review on what’s coming in terms of SEO for Esports Creator. We will have early access for 2.0 open 1st September, with a public launch coming later that month. If you would like to get into early access, you can DM us on Twitter or optionally email us at support@esportscreator.com
