Are these ancient ideologies still deeply woven through China, and more importantly — the CCP’s complex, contradictory and often volatile ideological tapestry?

I think much like the ancient silk from which China of old derived much of it’s trade and legacy from — these are now akin to the modern polyester composites which have overtaken the original by being cheaper, able to be produced at scale and more accessible to the lay person.

Whilst there may be a reference point — they are but pale reflections of old.
