1. Stop procrastinating.

Procrastination is very much a part of the human experience. It is all too natural to put things off for a later date. Sometimes referred to jokingly, especially as a college student waiting until the last minute to pull and all-nighter to write a paper or waiting until you can barely see the floorboard to clean out the car. But sometimes, procrastination can be more serious, and have more dire consequences in your life.

No one truly wants to live a life of “what ifs,” but it is easy to become complacent and forget to do the things you always wanted. For example, wanting to travel, but never actually making plans to save money and plan for travel is a common example of life procrastination.

Maybe you’ve always wanted to go back to school to progress in your career. If you want to find true love, but keep putting off dating, you are not really setting yourself up for achieving your true desires. These things don’t happen instantaneously, they take planning and work, but there is no time like the present to get started.

2. Be present.

One of our biggest faults can be always worrying about or looking ahead to what’s next or what happened in the past rather than living in the here and now. Give a complete and honest effort at whatever place you are at in life, and life is likely…
