Bridging the Gap: W.I.T, A Game-changer for Women in Tech
In the tech industry, the underrepresentation of women is a glaring issue that needs addressing. Data suggests that only around 28.8% of tech jobs are held by women, showing only a minor increase of 2 percentage points from 2019. Against the backdrop of this disconcerting status quo, we are proud to introduce the Women in Tech (W.I.T) web application, an innovative platform designed to uplift and empower women in the tech industry.
W.I.T: A Community-Oriented Solution
The W.I.T web application stands as a beacon of hope and a tool of empowerment. The platform offers a host of resources, mentorship opportunities, job postings, and a supportive community that women in tech can lean on. By fostering a safe space for women in the tech sector, W.I.T challenges gender bias and stereotypes, creating an environment that encourages and values diverse perspectives.
Addressing Unique Challenges
The challenges women face in the tech industry are multifold. They range from gender bias and unequal pay to a lack of female mentors and limited growth opportunities. The W.I.T web application is designed specifically to address these unique challenges. Project content
The content will be as follows:
Definition of a field in IT (Front-end, Back-end development, Project management, UI/UX design, etc.)
Webinars, online classes with mentors and teachers. Depending on one’s focus of interest classes will contain subjects like Math, Theory of probability, Alghorithms and Data StructuresEnglish courses, since it is a requirement for everyone who wants to work in IT
Building portfolio and CV + Preparation for job interviews and practice writing cover lettersOnce you have your CV and portfolio and you’re ready for the interviews, you can apply for a job via the app.
