Welcome back y’all! With the trade deadline come and gone, it’s a good time to remind the league of our trade deadline approaching. I don’t remember when it is, but if I did, this would be a great time to remind you of it. This special edition recap with include some hot takes made by league members early in the year, and we’ll see how those takes panned out. Let’s get into the recaps:

BlankenBalls (3–5) over Antonio Frown (4–4): Not gonna lie, this one hurt. One week after the league-imposed sanctions from the illicit Bell-Kamara trade, Blank shows that his rag-tag band of misfits can still drop 150 on any given week. Blank’s team defied expectations at a number of different positions, with his top 3 scorers at RB, TE, and WR respectively, and his QB was in the bottom half of his scorers.

BYE WEEK (7–1) over Belichick’s Boogeymen (4–4): Another below-performance win for Clayton makes his playoff appearance all but guaranteed. While he had no skill player reach 20 points, he had only one — Chase Edmonds, who left early with an injury — score under 10. Vanwey’s most valuable player, the Pat’s D, was once again his top-scoring play.

The Benchwarmers (4–4) over Biceps Win Fantasy (4–4): Ryker failed to hit triple digits this week for the first time this season, joining myself, Towers, and Blank as the the fourth person to do so this season. This win put Jordan in second place in the league for now, as we have a surprising SEVEN teams at 4–4! Ryker’s team is last out of those in points for and has the second-lowest points against in the league, so he’ll need to continue his lucky streak if he hopes to make playoffs.

Mahomeless (2–6) over Holdout Gang (4–4): WOW, I JUST SAW THIS SCORE FOR THE FIRST TIME. Towers’s team put on a clinic over Nosalik, with two players going 40+ this week. Towers will need a lot of luck, but he’s still mathematically in the playoff hunt, and a week like this should give him the confidence to keep going. It also helps that Nosalik made the bold decision to not start a defense, but like Linkin Park says, in the end it wouldn’t even matter (yes I know that’s not the exact quote which is why I didn’t put it in quotes so don’t @ me).

#10 (4–4) over Wentz Upon a Time (4–4): Styve’s team has been motivated by the haters in recent weeks, putting up almost 200 points to beat Luke and win his third straight game. It seems like nothing can go right for Luke, who finished the week as the thrid-highest scorer but falls from 2nd to 3rd in the standings.

The Best and Worst of Hot Takes: We’ll do this next week so y’all have tiem to remember the stupid things we’ve all said.
