As a Northern Californian born and raised, I can most certainly agree the weather is solid. : )

I had never heard of The Overachievers, but it certainly reminds me of another book I read recently, Where You Go is Not Who You’ll Be, by Frank Bruni. He put a lot of quote-worthy gems about college admissions in there as well.

If your heart really is that set on Stanford, I’d encourage to read the essays they ask prospective applicants to write. I’m helping a few of my students write their Stanford “intellectual vitality” essays now. The process of brainstorming and writing for this prompt really shows what sort of student Stanford is looking for — way better than all the hype, in my opinion.

Oh, and another question: To you, what does it mean to be an entrepreneur?

P.S. — Don’t forget about Berkeley! Our side of the Bay is way cooler. ; )
