The students of Ethnic Studies 198 condemn the anti-Semitic, racist flyers put up on UC Berkeley’s campus yesterday, September 22nd. We reject any attempt to construe our movement to reinstate the course and restore our academic freedom as anti-Semitic, rhetorically or in practice. We denounce these deplorable posters as well as the racist coward(s) who put them up in an attempt to use our course as an avenue for proliferating their anti-Semitic rhetoric. While we condemn anti-Semitism, releasing merely a statement does not combat hatred and ignorance. A diverse and free education combats ignorance and is what we’ve been fighting for from the start.
