Mine to protect against hackers

Everyone wants to be protected especially when going online. Companies tend to always seek the best defense mechanism they can find and pay top dollars for their security. However what tends to happen is that in most cases the antivirus or malware protection systems that currently exist are all reactive. In the sense that an attacker can out run the system without the system detecting it as fast.

When a damage happens the team moves to make the fix. This begets a special type of attack called the zero-day attack. this kind happens when an attacker finds a hole in the system and uses it to deploy a malware without the developer knowing. Giving the developer 0 days to find and fix the problem.

This is a major problem. This is where BITFENCE stands and sets out to do. Get rid of that. They came up with a smart way to go about this. They thought about creating a system that lures attackers and hackers to hack it and from the hack they acquire the pattern and behavior of the attacker and accordingly protect against that. It is what many would call a honeypot. The best bit is that it should run in any commodity hardware even a PI.

Now as you run the honeypot you are basically mining in the bitfence network. By doing so you are rewarded. That is the incentive for you to keep mining. This achieves collaborative protection. Assuming I am running the honeypot and was attacked they system would pick that in a timely manner and distribute it to the other systems now the attacker decided to attack another person say in the northpole. The system is immune from the attacker given the first instance my experience and protection has been distributed already.

Bitfence (HNY Token?)

You might be wondering how will you use the HNY token awarded from mining? Now they system fueled by the honeypot data gathered would be used in various hardware tool and sold on the platform which you can use HNY to buy those. Bitfence will also provide protection plans just like how McAfee is doing and you can pay using HNY to buy a given subscription among other services bitfence will provide.

Who are the minds behind this?

Abdul Khan, Vlad Tereshkov and William Mason.
