Reflection

By Ethan Reed

I see evil growing in my eyes

It spreads like a culture, dark and black.

Seeing darkness, my hatred has no disguise.

Once it reaches its peak, there’s no turning back.

I must prevent what others fail to see.

The incessant growth of this evil, black.

The world does not notice, how can this be?

This dark mass, cancerous in every way.

Conspicuous it seems, but only to me.

Through ignorance, surely, a price we will pay.

The threat that they carry is greatest to me.

Only I want the darkness gone by today.

My unjust hatred for dark, now I see

Light has appeared, and the true evil is me.
