Brahmatal Trek Himalaya Winter Treks @ Etravelfly
Brahmatal Trek is a lake immersed in myths that rests in the depths of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. Winter sweeps attractively on the slopes, making Brahmatal one of the few Himalayan destinations available for hiking in December, January, February and March.
This hike has many attractions — varying views from deep and shady oak and rhododendron forests to snow-covered meadows, camping in Bekaltal, the proximity of Lake Brahmatal in the Alps and the view of climate change from stunning high peaks glistening over a glorious sky. ! The Garhwal snow line view is all the more special here as there are rarely huge ice-covered peaks like Mt. Nanda Ghunti and Mt. The Trishuli can be seen on this low hike.
Thanks to the gradually ascending moving slopes, the Brahmatal Trek route is considered suitable for beginners and less experienced hikers. Most of the hike continues in the woods, reducing the chances of altitude sickness. All in all, the hike doesn’t take away from one outgoing and exciting winter experience behind the sweet full snow, the fascinating trail behind the absolute white, the deep silence in the grove of rhododendrons and oaks and the icy face of the lake water.
A special cry from this hike goes to the triggers — various frames, from snow-laden forests to the high peaks of white-gold in the alpenglow, and a deserted alpine mountain landscape with a lone tree standing on the icy shores of Lake Brahmatal in the composition of this hike.
BRAHMATAL TREK ITINERARY
DAY 1
Kathgodam to Lohajung Distance — 210 KM , 7 Hrs Journey .
DAY 2
Lohajung to Bekaltal . Distance — 6 KM [Duration: 4– 5 hours trek]
DAY 3
Bekaltal to Brahmatal ( Tilangi ) . Distance — 7km, [Duration: 6–7 hours]
DAY 4
Brahmatal ( Tilangi ) to Brahmatal Peak Distance — 7 km, [Duration: 6– 7 hours]
DAY 5
Brahmatal ( Daldum ) to Lohajung 5 KM[Duration: 5–6 hours]
DAY 6
Lohajung to Kathgodam Distance — 210 KM , 7 Hrs Journey
DAY 1: KATHGODAM TO LOHAJUNG
Upon your arrival in Kathgodam early morning, you will be picked from the railway station or bus stand.You will be travelling for 9 hours to reach Lohajung which is 215KM away from Kathgodam. By late afternoon, you will reach Lohajung where you will be staying at night in a guest house.
DAY — 2 : LOHAJUNG TO BEKALTAL
Today’s trek will start after breakfast. Commence the trip to Bekaltal.En route, let your eyes enjoy some awe-inspiring views of Nandaghunti Peak.
Trek through the forests of oaks and firs. Conclude the 4–5 hours long trek after you reach Bekaltal. The total distance you cover would be 6KMs.
Stay overnight in tents.
DAY — 3 : BEKALTAL TO BRAHMATAL
Enjoy the snow covered pathways that let you reach Brahmatal. It will take around 4 hours to complete the trek.The trails go through a forest and when you reach Telindi top, behold the enchanting views of the mighty Himalayas.Continue walking to finally arrive in Brahmatal or Khabekhal Lake.
DAY- 4 : BRAHMATAL ( TILANGI ) TO BRAHMATAL PEAK
Right after breakfast, get ready to climb to the top of Brahmatal.Tread along the tricky pathways which go through Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar.This trail is encircled by a mountain ridge with valleys on both sides.You will take 2.5 hours to reach Brahmatal Top.
Proceed to the next camp site in Daldum and the trek will take up to 3 hours to finish. 2.7 KM will be the distance you would be covering with this trek.
DAY — 5 BRAHMATAL ( DALDUM ) TO LOHAJUNG
Today, you will trail back to Lohajung along the same path you took to reach Brahmatal. Once you reach here, check-in to your guest house and take rest.
DAY — 6 : LOHAJUNG TO KATHGODAM
Conclude the trek and depart to Kathgodam early morning.After your arrival at Kathgodam, your trip comes to an end.
