Ayodeji Awosika, you’ve made use of one of the disadvantages I see in being able to highlight and/or respond to just a few lines. Taken out of context, sure, it looks like I’m saying it’s impossible to get noticed by a publication, and therefore we should all whine about it. BUT if you use your little eye balls and read on, instead of reading something, feeling rage, and then responding immediately based upon that emotion, you’d see that I go on to defend the advice that you should attempt to write for a publication, and this involves perseverance, as you’ve stated in your personal experience and I’ve also stated in this very article. You’re commenting without including the context, and It’s not okay.
The point I was making in the pretty piece you decided to single out, is that it’s easy to just tell someone to go write for a publication without a road map, especially if you have a large following. There is no “woe is me” going on here. I’m writing the advice that I have personally seen all over medium, given by particular people with large followings. Do I really have to follow that up with, “Disclaimer: I do not mean to include every single person attempting to write on medium.”?
Again, thanks for your input. Since you’re obviously coming from a biased angle, I would like to encourage you to challenge that and at least attempt to see things from my point of view instead of looking at everything through a “corrective” lens.
