50% of marriages end. So what?
It doesn’t mean people aren’t able to pick up the one.
It simply proves that sticking to the concept of “the one” is unrealistic.
Loving the same person for 50 years it’s not in the human nature. Not when people are free to choose. I have no stats at hand, but I bet that in Iran (just to make an example), marriages are definitely more long lasting than in North America…
To be honest, to me 50% of marriages that do not end in divorce seems still a remarkable number.
