One of the first things I do when I get home for break is take a long bath. Mostly because it is nearly impossible to do so with Berkeley housing. The first meal I always have is home cooked food — usually marinated Korean bbq with side dishes. Usually, before I leave, our family eats out somewhere nice — Korean food 90% of the time.
It seemed like just yesterday that I was experiencing growing pains adjusting from high school to college and now suddenly I have to experience them again from college to work life. I remember the initial discomfort of the short, infrequent visits home. The distance I felt from once close friends. The brief moments of respite after rigorous courses. Pain is so relative. Time is so relative. Humans are adaptable creatures. What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger, right?
I wonder what this next chapter in my life has to bring.
