Aluminium is an extremely versatile material with a lot of advantages in the construction industry. It can be put into a variety of uses due to its lightweight and flexible nature. It can be manufactured in a lot of different shapes and offers the ability to case and melt in any form.

Aluminium usage is becoming very popular among various industries and here are some reasons why a lot of industries are choosing aluminium over other materials. There are many aluminium suppliers in South Africa, and you can choose one reliable company for your needs.

Lightweight in nature

Aluminium weighs about a third of steel which makes it very lightweight in nature. Due to this property, it is easier and cheaper to transport than most of the other metals. When different materials are used with aluminium, it gives better benefits that include strength or easier formability. That is why it can be used in different places like vehicle panelling, kitchen fitting and more.

Corrosion-resistant metal

Aluminium is a corrosion-resistant metal that provides a natural protective coating. When it comes in contact with the oxidising element, it forms a coating of aluminium oxide which is extremely thin and this layer helps to protect the surface of any metal from corrosion and rust.

Offers reflective power

Another beneficial factor of aluminium is its reflective power. The purer the aluminium, the better it will be able to reflect light. Even silver fails to reflect light as good as aluminium and due to this reflective factor, they have a variety of uses and one of them is rescue blankets as it helps to reflect both heat and light at the same time.

Recyclable metal

Aluminium is 100% recyclable and even during the recycling process, it retains all of its original properties and this is very beneficial in the field of production as this property helps to reduce the cost. A product made of aluminium, when recycled, will help to manufacture another product from that recycled aluminium which will reduce the cost of production and it will be beneficial for both the manufacturer and the buyer. Also, recycling metal means our mother nature will be cleaner because fewer raw materials will be used while manufacturing the product. Aluminium has the longest life span compared to any other metal which helps it to get recycled over and over.

Thermal efficient metal

Aluminium is a great electric and heat conductor. Although copper is more efficient compared to aluminium, it can provide the same amount of electrical resistance as half of the weight of copper which makes it a better option compared to copper and for this reason it is a preferred metal in the power lines industry. Also, it is a great conductor of heat and that is why it is used to make heat sinks.

Besides the above points, aluminium is odourless and strong when bonded with other metals and that is why it is preferred by various manufacturers. The use of aluminium is extensively increasing among industries such as automobile, construction and electrical industries and it will be used in the future.
