Sunny!

It’s sunny!!

Grab a good book, a blanket and a pillow and run to your nearest park!

My picnic / book reading bag is always packed.

If you’re in the right area, you might even see one of these! (not the lady sitting on the bench, the bird!!)

Proust was a neuroscientist

If you’re looking for a book suggestion, Proust was a neuroscientist will inflate your brain with lots of interesting ideas.

It’s a cognitive psychology book, but written for people without psychology or chemistry degrees. It’s a wonderful read!

You’ll understand what I mean once you read the chapter about Auguste Escoffier, how tastebuds need to learn new flavours, and hearing new sounds can make us violent. Brilliant book.

And it parallels each neuroscientific discovery to an artist / writer / chef / composer, which works incredibly well for remembering the lessons!

Although the one I seem to be remembering the best is the one about taste…

Enjoy the sunshine!
