Rap Legends Get Together on Halftime Show of the “Crypto Bowl” LVI
Super Bowl LVI will start on February 13th. It will be played between the NFC champion Los Angeles Rams and the AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals.
The Los Angeles Rams made their first appearance in Super Bowl XIV where they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Rams defeated the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV to win the first Super Bowl championship in team history, and the wonderful performance of quarterback Kurt Warner also allowed him to win the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) that year. The Rams later lost to the New England Patriots twice, in Super Bowl XXXVI and Super Bowl LIII. This year will be the fifth time the Los Angeles Rams have appeared in the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl LVI will be the third appearance for the Cincinnati Bengals following Super Bowl XVI in 1981 and Super Bowl XIII in 1988. Formed in 1967 under the leadership of former Cleveland Browns head coach Paul Brown, the team first played in the 1968 season. Paul Brown was the head coach of the Bengals from their inception in 1967 until 1975.
Apart from the two teams, the most anticipated part of the Super Bowl is the halftime show. This year multiple legendary rappers will appear in the halftime show. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar will perform together in the halftime show. Any of these superstars could run the scene, and they are going to perform together this year!
In the official trailer for Super Bowl LVI, the Dre Five first appeared in their signature scenes: Eminem appeared in a metaverse-like scene where the background music was his song, Rap God. Eminem spent $460,000 to buy NFTs in 2021; Snoop Dogg, followed by the Lowriders team, launched a series of NFT collectibles in December last year. Their background music is his classic song, The Next Episode; Mary J’s background music is her song, Family Affair, which has spent 11 weeks number one on the chart; finally, Kendrick appears to the accompaniment of the song, Humble, and Dr. Dre walks along the seashore, playing Still Dre with the piano keys jumping in the waves. In the end, the five people finally converged at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, the most expensive stadium in the world.
So why did the Super Bowl LVI become the “Crypto Bowl”? Because this year’s Super Bowl 30-second ad auction sold at an all-time high of $7 million! According to the WSJ cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase Global, FTX, and Crypto.com are buying ad space at top prices during the NFL finale. This will be the first time a crypto company has run an ad in the Super Bowl.
CNN wrote, “Welcome to the ‘Crypto Bowl’”. The amount spent on advertising in the Super Bowl this year is about 160 bitcoins or 2,200 ethers. Cryptocurrencies will take center stage during Super Bowl LVI ad breaks, even as bitcoin prices have fallen more than 35 percent from their all-time highs a few months ago.
With Eminem and Snoop Dogg making frequent moves on NFTs, and cryptocurrency exchanges making further appearances in Super Bowl commercials, the 2022 Super Bowl is destined to be written into Crypto history!
