The Tales of Little Ama (1)

Little Ama loved Sundays
One could say it was partly due 
To the Sunday afternoon jollof rice and dodo
Her mother usually made after church
Another reason was the fact that
She loved attending church
In her fancy dresses
She loved to sing and dance too
The main reason however,
Was Aunty Gracie
You see, Aunty Gracie was her Sunday school teacher
An excellent story teller she was
She always had the children in apt attention
And after each service
The children will chatter away
About Aunty Gracie and her bible stories
Mama Ama always asked her daughter
To recount what she was taught in church
But this fateful Sunday afternoon,
Mama Ama did not ask her daughter
(I think she was upset
That the vegetable soup she made the day before
Had gone sour)
Little Ama walked up to her mother in the kitchen
"Mummy guess what we were taught in church today"
"Yes Ama, what were you taught?"
Excitedly little Ama began
"We were taught that Jesus has all the power in the whole world"
Her mother smiled
"Oh wow! That’s beautiful! Is that all?"
"But I also learnt that the devil has no power at all....."
She muttered and paused
"....Like me. I don’t have any power and cannot do anything......."
