It is funny to me that Paul clarifies what happens after one dies in 1 Thessalonians 4 and 5 after he already visited them. It seems to me that there were some who became Christians without knowing specifically what would happen after they died.

In a modern American context, that seems a bit crazy because assurance of eternal salvation is so important.
