Using interactive digital media to tell stories is a brilliant and exciting idea! Can you imagine how incredible something like the Harry Potter series could be if you could freely roam Hogwarts and interact with characters to progress the story? I can, because I played that video game. It wasn’t that good, actually. Video games have been telling stories through what you’re calling “AR” for decades; that’s nearly all of what point-and-click adventure games were.

What you are describing is called a video game. Sometimes they don’t have much story and only engage the reader in challenging actions, but often video games have full casts of characters, stories, and even sometimes meaningful choices the player can make to progress the story.

Good luck producing video games.
