What World Are We Building?
danah boyd

We live in a science-fiction world right now because the people who demand that they determine our future, and all they can think of is a technological future, are very, very immature. Soon enough all of the real corporeal human bodies will be replaced with simulacrums of our selfs, because we have each been studied and can easily be copied. So the whole world will be full of fake towns full of fake people, just like miniature rail road model towns are now. All the texts in books and all of the scenes in movies and all of the music on CDs will have been replaced, too. Right down the memory hole, as we have distant memories of living in a nation state that was in a constant state of war with “the other”.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
