Why Keeping a Daily Journal Could Change Your Life

As someone who has been journaling since age 9, I found a lot to agree with in this article. I love this quote: “When there’s a gap between who you are and who you intend to be, you are incongruent and unhappy.” I find that journaling gives a voice to my insecurities, negative thoughts and questions. Journaling in the morning is a coping strategy that helps me prepare for the day. Journaling helps me know myself. As J.P. Sartre said: “I wrote in order to write. I don’t regret it; had I been read, I would have tried to please. I would have become a wonder again. Being clandestine I was true.”
