I disagree with you here Jim. NYU is a private university and UC Santa Cruz is a public university. The tuition for UC Santa Cruz is 1/5 that of NYU. That’s a huge difference. Furthermore, almost half of all incoming UC freshmen come from low income families. If families can’t afford to send their kids to a public school in their state of residency, what else is left?
