3 Morning Rituals to Kickstart Your Day!

Most of our reality is shaped by our beliefs and expectations which are then transformed into thoughts and habits. It’s our habits we develop that are encoded into the subconscious, which then dictates our daily routines. Unfortunately, these habits often lead us to be less productive than we want to be.

Ever say to yourself, “Tomorrow I’m going to wake up early, hit the gym before work and finally start that business,” only to find yourself hitting the snooze button?

Don’t worry, this happens or has happened to most of us. This being said, here are 3-morning rituals that have helped me become both happier and more productive

1) Practice Gratitude

Often times we forget about how good things really are. I was guilty, but 2 years ago my Dad introduced me to his friend, UJ. UJ is the founder of the Intelligent Change, and the creator of the amazing book, the 5 Minute Journal.

Let’s face it, life can get hectic and we often end up neglecting the things that are important to us. By waking up each morning and jotting down things we are grateful for, we instantly recognize all the great things we have going on, which leads to a happier, more productive day ahead.

2) Drink More Water

We all know that we should drink more water. What I don’t think we remember are all of the reasons why we should.

According to an awesome article by Life Hack, drinking adequate amounts of water can help us feel more energized, more focused, flush toxins, stay regular, have healthier skin and help us from getting sick!

Having a glass of water with lemon right when we wake up is an amazing way to prime our bodies for the day ahead. Hydrating throughout the day is important too. 3) Make Your Bed

I know it sounds silly, but hear me out.

To be honest, I was guilty of not making my bed every day (sorry Mom). That was until I came across the School of Greatness podcast by Lewis Howes.

Lewis is a former professional football player turned best-selling author, lifestyle entrepreneur, high-performance business coach, and keynote speaker. In his podcast The School of Greatness, he picks the brains of the most successful people on the planet. Tony Robbins, Casey Neistat, and Steve Cook are just three of the amazing people he’s interviewed in over the course of 450+ episodes. If you haven’t already, I definitely recommend checking him out!

Lewis says that making his bed is something simple he can do that ensures he starts every day with an accomplishment. I’ve adopted this modest habit and as crazy as it sounds, it actually makes a difference.

So that’s it. These are 3 little things that I do every single morning to kick start the day ahead. Starting the day with these little tools has allowed me to be more mindful, optimistic and positive.
