Want To Go Higher? Raise Your Floor!
What Personal Development Gurus Don’t Advise
When it comes to getting «better» results and/or achieving «big» goals, personal development gurus — and some spiritual ones too — recommend to use some — or all — of the following concepts.
I list them in no particular order:
- Locking your mind on the goal you want to reach.
- Recognize your strengths
- Create a plan
- Focus on improving
- Pay the price
- Build momentum
- Prioritize
- Be merciless about constancy (that’s mine, actually)
And many others according to the particular paradigm.
I agree, give or take, with most of them.
But can you see what’s missing?
Can you identify the very significant pieces that are almost never mentioned, and have the power to avoid you falling short again and again no matter how hard you work to live your desires?
There are two distinct elements absent in most of the guidelines offered to those who want to move from point A to point B.
One of them is so utterly important that I’m co-creating a Global Movement to make it mainstream: exc!tement.
You can get to know about The Exc!tement Movement here.
But I won’t speak about the exc!tement in this post.
I want to talk about the other element.
While everyone is telling you to focus on raising your standards, getting out of your comfort zone, and breaking your limits, I want to remind you of…
Raising Your Floor.
Because let me tell you, you’re always starting and standing somewhere.
And the lower that starting point is, the biggest is the distance with your higher desires.
By your floor, I mean your baseline. And that is the beginning of whatever journey you start whether you are aware of it or not.
That baseline is vibrating at a particular frequency, out of the beliefs anchored there.

Whichever contextual beliefs you’re withholding, as subtle as they might be, will set the tone for the experiences you’ll end up manifesting, out of the vibration you are broadcasting (but that last part is a whole theme in and on itself, for another post or book).
Nope, the Universe doesn’t work based on favoritism. It directly responds to our (vibrational) cues.
To move our baseline up the vibrational ladder, and consequently having what we could call «better» experiences — because we enjoy them more out of being more in alignment to our core signature frequency — we need to train ourselves to go to higher frequency domains more often.
BUT first — or in parallel — in some cases and my experience, we’ll need to explore the beliefs that are keeping our baseline at whichever level it is.
Not all of them.
You don’t need to investigate every-single-little-thought you have.
Instead, use a more efficient approach.
Here I give you 5 ideas I use to raise my floor.
Feel free to try them.
1. Keep in mind — and at heart — that I am choosing
Everything starts here: I remind myself I’m not a victim of my beliefs.
I bought them once, yes, but I’m not their slave for life.
2. Identify common patterns and denominators in my story
Which experiences, feelings or circumstances that don’t resonate anymore, have been repeating in my storyline still in different areas?
Have I experienced (the illusion of) «lack» in my life in more than one area? Am I repeatedly operating from the same kind of energy?
3. Explore Dynamically
I no longer explore statically seated on my couch and with my eyes closed (it was pretty boring actually).
Now I take action while doing my exploration in the direction it feels more in alignment, or as I like to put it: “I align my butt to my wisdom.”
4. Choose thoughts that feel better & Act accordingly
I don’t tolerate bullshit from my mind. Period (well, I do my best).
I don’t even have to believe everything I think.
I won’t tell you to “just release your beliefs” because I don’t know how to “just release them”, and probably neither do you. But I can choose and focus on new thoughts. That I can do.
And once I’ve chosen a new thought because it feels better, I act accordingly, even if I have to fake it till I make it.
5. Choose again. Build momentum
I repeat my new focus until my overall frequency raises.
I know it raised because I feel better. And better.
If I keep my radio band higher, sooner than later my baseline will tune to the new frequency.

There’s so much more to say about this theme!
I know it because I’m going through it.
I’m in the process of raising my floor. And it’s a fantastic experience of constant awakening and expansion of consciousness, beyond my wildest dreams.
I might write about it as I keep raising it ;-)
