The President’s Speech
I just finished watching the President’s speech the day after the midterm elections and was amazed as I believe the Press Corps. were that the President refuses to reach across the aisle. He spouted noises that he would, but his true answers made it quite obvious that he is not going to.
He has pretty much laid down the gauntlet to the Republicans to push him to Veto everything they disagree with him on policy on. It’s disheartening and disappointing after being excited thinking that the Republicans, having won both houses, will still have to fight him at every turn and not able to get done what the American people want.
The only thing good about it as Jack Welch, ex-CEO of GE said, is if the Republicans have a cohesive plan and put legislation forward we will then see who the party of “no” is, which will now be the Democrat President and hopefully obvious to the American people and effect the Presidential vote in 2016.
I could not believe some of the questions the Press Corps. asked the President, though he did an admirable job of jousting and avoiding the most contentious questions. It still was rather amazing to hear that he is still going to hang tough on “The Affordable Care Act” which he insisted on calling our new horrendous healthcare system, though the rest of the world calls it ObamaCare.
Mitch McConnell is on his way to becoming the Majority Leader of the Senate and gave a speech before the President. The President’s “staff” obviously did not tell him what was said, and when asked by Major Garrett, reporter, the President avoided the serious answers. He did admit to being ready to use Executive Order or Veto when the time came for repeal of ObamaCare and immigration reform.
So what do you all think?
