Where’s the Originality?
Michelle Hozey

That’s why I keep writing.

Maybe someday I’ll actually have some readers. But in the meantime, the platforms are struggling with how to compete and like gamblers, they chase. They see a story getting attention and they copy it to challenge the other platform’s success, instead of featuring new content.

It’s the same reason every production company made an undersea monster movie. Then an asteroid hits the earth movie. Then they remake Spider-Man again. Reboots are like comfort objects for media companies and so are recycled viral content.

And maybe my writing is terrible, but the fact is that gaining clicks is a terrible way to judge quality content. Which means my writing must be amazing. 😂
