There is nothing helpful about this piece. You decry “Democrats”, but you seem to ignore the fact that there is evidence the GOP intentionally constructed districts that excluded the left from power. And voters are giving few to no disincentives for this. That’s really a big snag isn’t it? If those policies are popular, why aren’t people voting for the politicians pitching them?
This is a kind of nihilism, the impulse to stand still and watch a train wreck. Except the train is our country, and we are all paralyzed looking for the adult in the room.
There are no tools the democrats can use to pass this legislation. Your whole analysis is predicated on the idea that majorities in congress still care what voters want. And that seems less true every day. I have no idea why you believe that.
