This is terribly sad.

Without understanding the Bible, history would be baffling. I’m reminded of the interview with Richard Feynman… everything in the world has layers of depth and meaning, if you have the education to see them. I feel as though Trump’s America is trying to uncouple itself from history: nothing has meaning beyond the immediacy of your feelings. Nihilism corrodes culture.
