Modern couples are becoming more creative than ever when it comes to wedding decorations in order to create a unique and personal wedding. The first choice to make before making detailed plans is to choose a theme or colour scheme for your wedding. Whether it’s a beach wedding, or a traditional style reception, there are many individual elements that work together and complement each other. The basis of these elements are the table decorations whose importance can’t be overstated. Here are a few reasons why.

The Centrepiece is an anchor

If you are looking for a traditional table layout, with multiple tables accommodating 8 to 10 guests, then each one should have focal point or centrepiece. A modern choice for couples is to have centrepieces that don’t match, but rather follow a theme. They might share a colour, or maybe a shape, and whether or not the material they’re made of is the same or not, each one is usually a distinct piece that complements the whole.

A popular choice for a centrepiece is a flower arrangement. There are plenty of options to consider, such as types and variety of flowers, and fresh or artificial. Another great choice is candles, especially when grouped together with ones of different height, or maybe floating in the water.

Delicate Table Linen

Traditionally, the tables are covered with fine fabric table covers, like simple white or ivory linen, which can provide contrast to the colourful flower arrangement and decoration patterns. However, patterned table linens with bold colours are becoming much more common with simple decorations placed on top.

A great advice when you have several tables is to try out different coloured table clots in various shades of you colour theme. This way you can have a warmer setting, rather than just choosing pure white. If you feel like the entire table of colour is too much, look for table runners in your wedding colour, or make them from the same materials as the bridesmaids’ dresses.

Final touches of decoration

There are plenty of fine touches that can greatly enhance the delicately balanced decorations. Try using confetti to add a touch of flavour to your tables. If you’re worried about drink spillage and think it might cause a mess, consider using metallic confetti, along with horseshoes, stars, and hearts to make the tables shinier.

A popular current trend is to use crystals in all aspects of your wedding, and sprinkling a couple of crystals on each table could add a nice sparkle. Another romantic option, which will surely impress your better half, is to use freeze dried rose petals to scatter on the tables to complement the wedding flowers and colour scheme.

Customisation

Besides the usual types of decorations, there a few unique ones that you can add on the tables that can create a sort of decorative setting. These include place names, bonbonnieres, disposable camera, serviette rings, and unusual glassware. These can be ordered in different themes and styles, so think carefully when choosing on which options you want to be customised.
