China Forbes is a versatile and dynamic artist known for her powerful voice and charismatic presence. Forbes has established herself as a prominent figure in the music industry, particularly through her work with the globally acclaimed band Pink Martini. Forbes’ passion for music was evident from an early age. She attended Harvard University, where she studied visual arts but soon gravitated towards her true calling: music. During her time at Harvard, she became involved in the vibrant local music scene, honing her skills as a singer and performer. After graduating, she pursued a career in acting in New York City, but it wasn’t long before her musical talents took center stage.
In 1995, her career took a pivotal turn when she reconnected with her Harvard classmate Thomas Lauderdale, the founder of Pink Martini. Lauderdale invited her to join his “little orchestra,” and together they embarked on a musical journey that would captivate audiences around the world. Pink Martini’s music defies easy categorization, seamlessly blending classical, jazz, world music, and pop. Forbes’ rich, versatile voice became a defining element of the band’s sound.

The Smithereens are a renowned American rock band formed in Carteret, New Jersey, in 1980.
