Engaging 188 cities worldwide, Creative Mornings has a very strong international character and brings a world of ideas together. But what is CM actually about? And what is the atmosphere of an event that evolves in every city?

The overall goal of these events is to “bring people together” and “showcase Cologne as a cheerful and open-minded city” Nadine Prowaznik, host of CM Cologne, reports us. It is not so much about exchanging business cards, but rather a gathering of “family,” as she explains tenderly. The talks and presentations at a Creative Morning event do not involve pitching your own company, but thoughts and ideas. Of course, Creative Mornings is about networking as well, but in a more relaxed and comfortable way. This isn’t about throwing your cards at people and collecting contacts like coins.

After two years being in charge of hosting the events, participants of Creative Mornings really get to know each other, and sometimes they even go out together. However, at the same time new people join the family all the time, proving that this really is a welcoming and dynamic group.

It is the “get-together of Cologne”, a place where people go to because they want to.

Proving to be highly inclusive, the events take place in German as well as English — it always depends on the speaker. Both internationals and locals are always welcome. Despite that, as Creative Mornings is located in Cologne, it’s always a delight to have speakers from Cologne to support the “local patriotism,” as Nadine calls it.

By welcoming all nationalities, unknown or already established persons, these events try to keep the “inhibition level” quite low. For example, Nadine once invited Bastian Campmann from the music band ‘Kasalla’, a pretty well-known name in Cologne. Well, that was what was supposed to happen, except for Nadine who mistook one of his songs with another band when she wanted to compliment him.

However, he immediately confirmed when Nadine called and asked him. They’ve seen it as a little experiment, as due to his recognition many fans would probably call CM and ask for him. And they were right — as the day of the event came many teenager girls came to see him.

Nonetheless, they were relaxed ad Bastian handled it in a professional way — no awkward situation!

As you can see, with Creative Mornings it doesn’t matter where you from, who you are or who you are not — the only thing that counts is the value you give people with authenticity and passion! If you want to get together with Colognes family then be sure to attend the next event at 10th of August at Geschnitten Brot!
