Bridges take people from one side of a river to another, and ideas can bring people together across continents. Sharing a single vision with someone, or with a community of like-minded thinkers, is a powerful force for change.

Connecting ideas and entrepreneurs the world over, Startup Grind has been bringing people together for almost ten years. Here Michail Kosak tells us about his work in Beijing and the mark he is going to leave on the world.

The startup: what’s it all about?

Startup Grind is “a global startup community that empowers entrepreneurs and startups worldwide, giving them a platform to network with fellow entrepreneurs.” Michail says their philosophy is built upon “first giving to others before thinking about yourself, where we can help each other instead of working alone. We want our connections to be about making friends and not contacts.” Startup Grind holds monthly events in their Chapters worldwide, attended by successful entrepreneurs who share their experiences and knowledge.

Where is it based?

Startup Grind is situated all over the world, in 400 cities across 120 countries. Michail says, “I left Beijing in July and now relocated to my hometown, Cologne. I want to build a strong network here in the Rhineland, including cities such as Düsseldorf and Bonn.”

Michail has strong ties here: “the Rhineland is my home,” he says, and he wants to help young entrepreneurs and companies in this region succeed. He also plans to “build up my global network, to be a facilitator between the Rhineland and the world.”

How are you going to change the world?

Michail tells us “Startup Grind is fostering entrepreneurial activity around the globe,” looking worldwide for the innovation found in flourishing startup hubs. Michail believes his company will be “a major player in shaping a future world that will be filled by enthusiastic, like-minded entrepreneurs and startups, who will enrich the lives of people worldwide.”

On a more personal level, Michail wishes to “empower my network to turn their dreams into action, so they also can help make this planet a better place. My footprint will be my network and the people I care about.”

About Michail

Having spent so much time working in environments where it is possible to reach out and share multiple ideas every day, Michail says “I can connect to anybody in the world, regardless of background, origin or culture, and empower people to achieve the greatest version of themselves.” His love for helping people fits strongly with the philosophy of Startup Grind. “I offer to help people achieve their goals and dreams. I can help you to finally take action and create the life want.”
