I suppose different people might react to circumstances differently. A while back I thought quite seriously about how I should live and behave “in a fishbowl” (I had reason to believe to believe that my telephone was tapped and my mail being examined in 1972). Consequently, when I got Internet access around the turn of the century, I resolved to continue applying the principle that I had adopted when I had thought about how I should live and behave with no privacy. Whenever possible, I have avoided nicknames and anonymity.
