Whenever I find myself being an emotional stress ball, incorporating energy work, such as meditation and visualizations, throughout the day has done wonders for my sanity.

Many energy healers stand by the statistic that 17 seconds of energy work can equate to 2 or more hours of physical work.

Whether or not that is the case for you, just know that managing your energy certainly can help get you farther than where you want to go.

For instance, ever notice how when you go on autopilot, the To-Do list doesn’t necessarily get shorter? At the end of the day, do you ever feel like you did a lot but didn’t really get anything substantial done?

Well that’s when energy work can play a big part in helping you get more efficient and productive, particularly when it comes to working smarter not harder. How?

Even taking a brief moment to practice meditating can help you gain mental and energetic clarity.

By practicing meditation, you can better focus your attention from thoughts that drain your energy to thoughts and situations that uplift you.

Taking some time to meditate at any point of the day, even for a minute, can allow for emotional cleansing because we’ve taken a moment to stop, observe, listened, and understand what is going on.

Otherwise, days, months and even years could slip past unnoticed. So find a comfortable seated position and focus on your breath.

Perhaps you make want to visualize a mountain or a lake. Perhaps a walking meditation is better for you and your lifestyle.

Either way, being aware of your thoughts can help you to see and know your thoughts as just thoughts rather than getting caught up in them as a reality.

Whether you prefer to sit, lie down, or walk, just take the first step even if it is just for a few minutes.

In order for energy work such as meditation to be effective, we must be willing to face our thoughts when they come up, sometimes over and over again, without running away to avoid the unavoidable.
