Evolution’s Development Plan for Resource Management

At Evolution, we’ve had the fortune of collaborating alongside the EOS community to propose unique approaches on how to decentralize voting and ensure fair block production. However, due to compute resource limitations and its future impediments on ownership rights as noted by Dan Larimer, we’ve begun the development of a scalable solution to RAM and property rights. RAM is a scarce resource in EOS and its limitations contributed to Dan’s implementation of 3 year limit on asset rights within the EOS constitution. The long term technical constraints of large RAM, CPU, and Bandwidth stakes being trapped within accounts should in…

A Decentralized approach to DPOS voting rights

In the past week, two of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Huobi and Bitfinex (a lead investor in BlockOne) have announced their candidacy to become Block Producers on the EOS Blockchain. We foresee several serious concerns and intrinsic conflicts of interests with exchanges operating as Block Producers.

Voting

When you deposit or hold tokens on an exchange, your tokens are put into a shared wallet that the exchange controls, along with everyone else’s tokens. This gives large exchanges, such as Huobi and Bitfinex direct control over an enormous amount of voting power. …

Vitalik Buterin, a co-founder of Ethereum recently wrote a blog post criticizing the governance structure and consensus model of EOS. Specifically, he argued that the current BlockOne model of DPOS with 21 Block Producers is flawed and would not be successful long term. Below, we will analyze his main criticisms of EOS and propose how Evolution, a new Blockchain using EOS open source software, will be able to solve his criticisms while still ensuring true decentralization.

For those of you who are new to our project, Evolution is a community driven adaptation of the EOS open source software launching a…

15% Initial Airdrop [in progress]

17.5% Community Airdrops

32.5% Scale Airdrop

Ecosystem Airdrop Allocation

20% DApp Development Grants

2.5% Arbitration Resolution Grants

2.5% Block Producer Grants

Team

10% Evolution Core Team (Tokens will be distributed via a smart contract and will vest over a period of 10 years; releasing 10% annually following the successful launch of the Evolution Blockchain.)

DApp Developer Grants

Evolution’s aim of bringing together a decentralized community is only possible through the innovation of developers and entrepreneurs alike. The funds for DApp development will be distributed based on community support and votes. These grants ensure the sustainability of new startup projects and community development initiatives. DApp grants are distributed over 10 years and self sustaining by utilizing a percentage (5–10%) of the overall annual inflation.

This guide will walk you through the process of participating in the Evolution Airdrops which will take place starting May 10th 2018.

For those of you who are new, Evolution will be running on its own blockchain. Evolution aims to solve the issues taking place in EOS with large ownership stakes by Exchanges and Block Producers as previously discussed.

Why an Airdrop?

Evolution will not be holding an ICO. Evolution is based on the DPOS consensus proposed by EOS and will honor the community by airdropping tokens. The aim is to disperse tokens evenly across the EOS community.

What do I need in order to participate?

To allow for an equal…
