In recent years massive open online courses (MOOCs) have become a trend in online education. If you have lots of money and free time you can still apply to most expensive universities, move to other country/city, spend 2–5 years attending many classes OR right now you have an option to take WHENEVER FOR FREE WHATEVER course from most prestigious universities and teachers. Yes, this is definitely more difficult to accomplish as it requires only self discipline way of acquire knowledge but definitely smarter!

MOOC — this is an aggregate of many MOOCs from different universities, providers, geographies, etc. andOpen Culture is aggregate for not only courses, but also free audiobooks, free videos, free eBooks, etc.
MIT — Well Known Technical University offers courses from Technopanics to Principles of Automatic Control. In total they have more than 2000 courses or/and materials available on-line.
Stanford — quoting Stanford itself: Stanford Online offers a variety of professional education opportunities in conjunction with Stanford University schools and departments.
