So all of the cited meme examples (even, I would argue, Trump) seem to indicate a person who is at first widely regarded as amusing, cuddly, entertaining, and/or lovable in some simplistic cartoon way before becoming exposed as an imperfect, flawed (perhaps deeply flawed) actual human being.

Are there any meme examples of the opposite: a seemingly awful person who turns out to be, once further details are colored in to sketch a more complete portrait, not so bad or even kind of great? I can’t recall any examples, but I’d like to think there is more than just a downward trajectory for accidental celebrity.
