Flagstaff’s $15 Minimum Wage Hike Is A Bridge Too Far
Erik Kain

What is by far the most successful business in America? Walmart. Does Walmart make their money with high profit margins and low sales? Or high sales and low profit margins? If more people are paid more money more money is going into the economy increasing sales. Profits for businesses paying higher wages will still make the same level of profits based on increased sales offsetting higher wages. It works quite well for Walmart. Using the standard minimum wage, and saying who earns this wage, overlooks the fact that a $15 minimum wage means a pay increase for 42% of American workers. It does not just affect those at the bottom. As for any argument that an increased wage would lead to inflation offsetting the wage increase can be debunked by thinking about the most successful business model in America.
