Claude, the underdog of the AI world, is making waves in the field of artificial intelligence. Anthropic, a startup founded by former OpenAI engineers who left the company dissatisfied, is the driving force behind Claude's groundbreaking advancements. This innovative chatbot has not only captured the attention of Google, which has invested a whopping $400 million in the project, but it has also outperformed ChatGPT and GPT-4. How did it achieve this feat? By reading extensively.

The More Tokens, the Better.

Current conversational AI models excel at processing large amounts of information in each query, and the key to their success lies in the concept of "context" (or context window), measured in tokens. Tokens are the basic units into which information is divided and processed by the model. While a token can represent a single word, it often corresponds to a small group of words. Google Bard and Bing Chat have a token limit of 2K, GPT-3 and ChatGPT support 4K tokens, and GPT-4 comes with a default limit of 8K. However, there is a variant of GPT-4 that can handle up to 32K tokens.

Claude 1, GPT-4 0. Anthropic has made a massive leap in this aspect. Initially, Claude's context window was limited to 9K tokens. However, they have now pushed the boundaries by enabling support for context windows of up to 100K tokens. According to the company, this allows for the introduction of approximately 75,000 words in a single prompt. What does this mean?
