Dada Robert better known as “Dadason” delivered a top-notch inaugural Your Skill Boost masterclass on quality improvement essentials on the 25th and 26th of May 2024. Each of the two-hour sessions was conducted from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Central African Time (CAT).
On the first day of the masterclass, he discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results.
The day further took participants through the concept of the “gap” between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve explaining the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic analysis of performance, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas while highlighting the importance of client focus and team approach in quality improvement.
On the second day, Dada Robert discussed the importance of defining problems clearly and understanding their root causes. He also explained the concept of the 5 Wise Technique and the Fishbone Diagram, which are tools used in root cause analysis. The goal of the session was to equip participants with the skills to conduct comprehensive root-cause analyses and improve the quality of their projects or activities.
“Many thanks to the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan for giving me the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills in Quality Improvement (QI),” Dada Robert said at the end of the masterclass.
Over fifteen (15) people joined the live Zoom session and about three (03) others followed on YouTube. Those who provided us feedback and comments say they learnt so much from the trainer.
