Review: Honestly, I am not into cold calling at all, that’s why I bought this book to learn about this “for me quite ancient” technique of lead generation and getting customers. Although even after reading the book, I will very likely not start using cold-calling, I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of good insights in the book. Many tactics have already been described somewhere else, like objection handling, mirroring or attitude, however, the author has put it all together in order to create his own cold calling “script”, containing of several phases and techniques, which is certainly useful to learn and understand. I am not in the business of cold-calling, however I have clients on the phone when making deals, and I am looking forward to use some of the tactics described during my calls as well. I can recommend this title to marketers interested in cold calling and lead generation in general.

Review: The first few chapters are great about the mindset and his thinking process to overcome obstacles on his career and hit a big goal to set 15 appointments a day when the average was 2 on a good day for most reps (that’s one star), it comes down to mindset and to program your habits.Overall, the chapters are good, with good (not breakthrough) ideas to tackle problems selling over the phone, the system he follows has some solid advice or seems to be effective (plus another star), but there is not much order on the topics (minus one star); as he actually warns on a small chapter, there is a sequence to a successful system or process, which is right, but the order is not there, so I guess is about upbuying more books and programs to get the pieces together in the right order (minus another star)The million dollar rebuttal is the ‘send me more information’ rebuttal which he covers well (plus one star) but nothing I hadn’t seen on other titles he actually recommends in this same book (minus that star) and calling it the million dollar rebuttal is misleading (minus one star) cause it means that, through his system, he managed to get money from the clients, whom, without overcoming that final objection he wouldn’t be able to set the appointments

Review: The mantra of any sales manager is “cold calling is a numbers game” which — in a sense may be true — is a wildly inefficient way of selling. This stance also creates a revolving door of salespeople who find the phone heavy and the process discouraging. In this book the first seven chapters are focused on personal development and adopting the proper mindset before hitting the phones, which I found refreshing. The last half of the book was dedicated to the sales process and trying to be better in handling objections, stalls, callbacks…right through the proposal and closing phases. Getting a decision maker on the phone is a battle but it’s not the only once encountered during the sales process so I appreciated the insight on how to handle those that reflected the mindset adjustments earlier in the book. Rock solid tips presented in a way that is easily incorporated into your sales efforts.

Review: I’ve done cold calling before, and I got good at it. Not before I struggled. Cold calling is actually just regular calling. If you’re calling to ask for a price, disputing with your insurance company, or calling to book something for a good price, this good can help immensely. People are mistaken that this book is only for those who want to cold call at a higher level, within a sales job. Yes, it’s for those in sales, but it can also be for others. I personally worked in sales for 10 years, but without sales, I wouldn’t have been able to make the friends that I did, and find the deals and lifestyle that I wanted for me. Sales are human communication. I recommend this book to all.Plus, this book was nice, short and an easy read.

Review: I have a close friend who knows a lot about cold calling and since we talk quite often, I hear bits and pieces from him about it. I must admit being very new to the topic but it fascinated me enough to peruse the selection of books on the market currently and I settled for this one because it was one of the few he recommended. The others didn’t call to me anyway.That being said, I learned a great deal from this book and have a much better understanding of what it’s all about but as a complete beginner, I’m not sure I’m the best for recommending this to others since I lack experience. That being said, I am glad to have this in my collection now.

Review: Wish I had read this years ago when I was in my early twenties and I was like lots of others a hungry young salesperson trying to get ahead.The book is written so well and it’s very easy to follow, understand and grasp the concepts discussed.Getting past the gatekeepers has always been the one thing that I struggled with when I was doing this. However, the tips and trick detailed here would have been gold to me back then.There were a few things that didn’t go well for me though, there could have been more order to the book and it didn’t quite deliver on a few premises such as the process flow. The title can be a little misleading too.On the whole, though I really quite enjoyed reading this, it brought back memories for me that I had forgotten but now quite enjoy again.Recommended reading for new sales people.
