Time for a Change
Looking outside of Technology to redifine the world of Support
This is a declaration of intent. there will be several uses i have for medium but this is the start of something important to me and the ones that work with me.
I have been running the Support system for the a year now and have been struggling to get the leadership side under control. I can Manager, plan and schedule like a master tactician but a support desk is more than the numbers, it is also the people who work there. What i have learned over the year is that classroom management does not equate to Support leadership. A classroom focus will go miles for working with the users and the general public but what is needed in the realm of support is something more structured.
What I will be trying next, and documenting as I go, is how well will the world of IT adapt to methods used in a Kitchen. Time management, People management, menu construction as well as a plethora of other skills and requirements are needed to keep a professional Kitchen running like clock work. I have seen similar methodology before used with success, my goal is to expand on that and make it my own.
