You Are Not Equal. I’m Sorry.
Dina Leygerman

Writing an emotionally fraught article without interest in going into the details of the arguments upon which the whole thing rests adds nothing new, and only serves to widen the gap between yourselves and those that disagree by confirming their negative perceptions of you.

So well done, pat on the back there.

Specifically, your whole point rests upon this apparent categorical lack of equality. If you want to be persuasive, you have to listen to the arguments against your points and respond. Just ignoring them and continuing in your blind escapade does nothing for you.

I mean “you still have to carry mace”. Who is this directed at? Society doesn’t condone rape, it abhors it. There are many things I’ve felt pressured to do due to societal influence, but never have I felt encouraged to rape.

So who are you protesting to, rapists? I don’t like murder but I’m not going to organise a march against it, hoping that murderers will change their mind- it’s nonsensical. And I can’t say the rest of what you write fares much better on the sense front.

We will never relate to what we see as your emotionally clouded appeals as I suspect you will not relate to what you likely see as our incorrect, uncaring logic.
