#TBT Gadget of the Week: The iPhone

“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”-Steve Jobs

The year was 2007 and the competition for the best smartphone ever was intense. There were some pretty great phones like the Nokia N95, the BlackBerry 8300 Curve, the Helio Ocean, the Motorola RAZR 2 V9m, the Samsung S G H-F700 and the LG Prada, but none of them stood out more than Steve Jobs’ iPhone. It was innovative to say the least. Jobs took his Mac Computer and his iPod and merged it into a smartphone that challenged and even destroyed the majority of Apple’s competition.

“That’s been one of my mantras-focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex; you have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.”-Steve Jobs

The iPhone allowed users to easily access their email, phone calls, music, calendars and text messages with a swipe of a finger or a push of one button. The design was functional for everyday use, fun to use, and great for work or business.

“I think if you do something and it turns out pretty good, then you should go do something else wonderful, not dwell on it for too long. Just figure our what’s next.” -Steve Jobs

In honor of our Throwback Gadget of the Week, we are giving away an iPhone 6 in our upcoming Facebook Photo Contest (www.facebook.com/EXOGEAR) which starts in 4 days.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As will all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”-Steve Jobs
