Know your Risk.

In the 2016 calendar year, personnel traveling to high-threat, high-risk countries and regions (as defined by the State Department) required additional training, including.

Value of a Threat & Vulnerability Assessment (TVA): The first step in a risk management program is a threat assessment. A threat assessment considers the full spectrum of threats (i.e., natural, criminal, terrorist, accidental, etc.) for a given organization.

Challenge: Most organizations operating overseas either have no plan at all or a plan that’s simply too “technical”. It’s easy to hire someone to conduct a TVA and get a nice looking report but the plan is only as good as the buy-in. In other words…PEOPLE have to understand it!

Solution: Commission a TVA that has a list of practical & actionable items. Your Threat & Vulnerabilities Report should empower your staff and raise their security awareness.

Example: We recently conducted a TVA for an organization. At the end of the TVA we had a staff debrief, fire drill, and security awareness workshop. The TVA had a positive impact on the entire organization.
